RegSweep Review RegSweep claims to be the latest in PC error diagnostic and repair. It can do a complete scan of your entire file system and registry in under 2 minutes. But does it really live up to these claims? In this review, we will take a good look at RegSweep and discover if it does a good job of removing bad registry entries. Ease of installation/Use : RegSweep is easy to download and install, and minimal computer experience is necessary to use this simple program. This software design allows any user to fix computer problems and you do not need any technical knowledge of computers at all to run this software and fix errors in the registry.
Features : After launching RegSweep you are presented with a clean and simple interface with the options: scan, settings, backup and manage startup. | Scan On the scan screen you can choose to let RegSweep scan for all the most common registry errors. If you have chosen all the scanning options, then it might take a while for it to complete the task. Once the scanning is completed, you will be shown how many errors were found and in which areas of the registry. It will prompt you to fix the errors. However the fixing part can be done only with the full version of RegSweep and the demo version will not allow the fixes to happen. | | Settings In the RegSweep settings area you can choose if you want the program to scan once your system is started and if you want to check for updates. | | Backup RegSweep makes backups of your registry before each scan and stores them under the 'Backup' section. Whereas some other tools I've tested make backing up pretty tough, it's easy to do here. |
 | RegSweep Manage Startup Another feature about RegSweep is you can manage your startup programs. You can choose which programs to launch when the system starts up. This saves your system from being bombarded by programs which you do not need at start up. This also helps in speeding your system to a great extent and also gets rid of unwanted programs. |
A real problem here because this tool misses loads of errors that the other ones pick up. In some tests it found only around 70% of the errors that it's competitors picked up on. No advanced settings. I clicked the settings button in RegSweep a few times because I thought I must have missed something. Nope, Still no settings here. And there really aren't any to speak of. If you're an advanced user, you're not going to find anything you can alter or tweak with RegSweep. Support :
RegSweep offers you live technical support twenty fours a day, seven days a week to ensure you can have access to all the help you may need anytime you need it. The technical support team offer you a range of services including answering any questions you may have and providing step-by-step guidance.
Price :
The basic RegSweep program is only $29.95. This product comes with a full 8 week guarantee. If it's not suitable, you can get a full refund.
Conclusion RegSweep looks great and is very easy to use, but the engine behind it doesn't work as well as the better tools on the market. There's no explanation of what's being fixed here and the help files are simply a link to a few pages on the Internet. Although the tool isn't exactly impossible to use, it's disappointing that they didn't take the time to write better information on getting the most from the tool.
